I became interested in the formality of the potager combined with its abundance of colour. It offered a new way of thinking about colour and planting, about paint and flowers and about the changing of the seasons. I began thinking about the colours in terms of plants and limiting the combinations on a seasonal basis. The geometry offers limits but opens new possibilities.
